“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude.“ -Denis Waitley
Arrival Time. The Blue Buddha is a street-level private practice studio, home to a group of talented Healing Arts Practitioners each of whom are independent business owners. Please arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to your scheduled treatment. Earlier arrivals will find the gate locked. Your emailed appointment confirmation will also remind you. It is essential that you arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time on your first visit to see a Practitioner to fill out your initial intake form. 15-minutes after your appointment start time the gate will be locked and you are considered a no-show. The moral of this story? Be on time or call the studio (415) 767.5120 (or even better call your practitioner directly via our Contact page) and leave a message that you are running a few minutes behind. It’s the nice thing to do :)
Cancellation Policy. We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. Business meetings, project deadlines, flight delays, car problems and illness are just a few reasons why one might consider canceling an appointment. In our desire to be effective and fair to all of our clients and out of consideration for our practitioners’ time and income, we have adopted the following policies:
• 24-hour advance notice is required when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment and for the practitioner to have an opportunity to make up for lost income. This is necessary for people like us who earn a living with an appointment based small business. You can’t cancel an appointment online with less than 24-hour notice due to our policy (e.g. 20 hours in advance). You will need to contact your practitioner directly via email or phone.
• If you are unable to give us 24-hours advance notice you will be charged the full amount of your appointment. Some practitioners will send you an invoice via email so that you can easily pay online. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.
• If you received a Gift Certificate to any of our practitioners (check your gift to confirm with whom is your practitioner) and do not provide 24-hour advance notice for a cancellation, you forfeit the gift certificate. It’s the same idea as being charged for no-show and outside of 24-hour cancellations but your session is already paid for.
No-shows. Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show”. They will be charged full price for their missed appointment and future services will be denied until payment is made. Some practitioners will send you an invoice via email so that you can easily pay online. This is where you get to practice your do-the-right-thing lifestyle. 15-minutes after the scheduled appointment time, the front gate will be locked and the appointment will be considered a no-show.
Arriving Late. Appointment times have been arranged specifically for you. If you arrive late your session will be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. In other words, sessions starting late will still end at their scheduled time. Depending upon how late you arrive, your practitioner will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the full cost of the session. 15-minutes after the scheduled appointment time, the front gate will be locked and the appointment will be considered a no-show.
Out of respect and consideration to your practitioner and other clients, please plan accordingly and be on time. There is an affordable parking garage located directly across from the studio or around the corner at Polk and Bush.
Gift Certificates. Each practitioner at The Blue Buddha is an independent business owner in our shared space. That means that ANY gift certificate is for a particular practitioner. There is no general studio gift certificate option, that’s not our business model nor can it be. Please be sure to read your gift certificate and schedule with the appropriate practitioner. When scheduling a gifted session, please please please (that’s three pleases!) note that you have a GC in the message section provided when scheduling. You don’t need to enter any long numbers, we can search by your name (unless your gifter used another name than the one you scheduled).
Payments. Each practitioner at The Blue Buddha is an independent business owner in our shared space. Please be aware that the payments accepted may differ and this is the discretion of each provider. The studio is not responsible for payment issues with each practitioner. Contact them directly.
Cell Phones. Give yourself permission to disconnect from the world and reconnect to your self. That’s what The Blue Buddha is all about. For your own relaxation and out of respect to our other clients please silence your phone. We ask that you refrain from any phone conversations while spending time with us. The Blue Buddha is an intimate space and we also kindly ask that you speak quietly as treatments are taking place.
Keep It Fresh! Inspired by the tradition of Thailand, in honor of our space and because city sidewalks aren’t so fresh The Blue Buddha is happy to be a shoe free zone.
Valuables. We are not responsible for any items personal items in the space. We recommend that all valuables come into the treatment room with you. All bags, purses, etc. go into the room with you.
Our Family of Practitioners. Please be sure to visit the individual Practitioner pages on our website to fully understand their offerings. Some may even have an additional website for you to learn more about them. You will find these on the Practitioner’s page.
Scent Free Zone. Please, if it is possible, do not come to the studio wearing strong perfume. It’s is challenging for both the practitioner and other clients and often results in headaches for the practitioner who works over your body in a small room. Natural essential oils? That’s no problem. But traditional perfumes are often over-applied by the wearer and they are often unaware of the impact of their scent on others.
Bike Free Zone. Unfortunately, like most very small businesses, we can’t allow bikes in our studio.
